The Fire and Ice Facial by iS Clinical is the latest treatment offered at Fresh Skin Clinic, having seen it advertised as the favourite of A-List celebrities and pioneered in Beverly Hills I was intrigued, to say the least! As someone who hasn’t always put skincare at the top of my list, and as somewhat of a ‘virgin’ when it comes to skin treatments here is my Fire and Ice experience!
I’m approaching the big 40 in a few years, I have twins who are soon to be 4 and I run 2 businesses, looking after myself has come way down the list of late! Having always been fairly lucky with my skin, I have started to notice ‘fine lines’ creeping in and darker circles under my eyes.
Considering my hectic lifestyle just walking into the Fresh Skin Clinic, with its white interior and plush furnishings instantly puts you at ease for a bit of ‘me time’!
IS CLINICAL FIRE & ICE RESURFACING TREATMENT
The Fire and Ice Facial is designed to resurface the skin, treat problematic skin, reduce fine lines and encourage cellular renewal. It is a rejuvenating treatment that bridges the gap between a mild facial and an invasive peel.
Rachel commenced the treatment with a thorough cleanse and explained the resurfacing of the skin starts with the first of two masques:
“The extremely powerful Intensive Resurfacing Masque is formulated with Sugar Cane Extract (potent natural source of Glycolic Acid), Retinol (Vitamin A) & Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)”
This is the ‘Fire’ part of the facial! It had a gorgeous smell, reminded me of mulled wine and all things Christmassy, great for this time of year! As it was my first treatment the masque was left on for 4 minutes. I could feel the heat! I would describe as hot pins and needles, nothing too uncomfortable!
This is then removed and the second masque is applied:
“Rejuvenating Masque, formulated with potent antioxidants, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Aloe Vera, Green Tea, Grape Seed & Rosemary Extract, soothes, hydrates and nourishes.”
This ‘Ice’ masque instantly cools the skin, it feels amazing after the fire. Rachel then finishes the treatment with creams and serums selected for your skin type.
Immediately after the treatment, it might sound like a cliché but I really did feel rejuvenated. My skin felt so soft, just a really deep down clean feeling! There was a slight redness to my cheeks but nothing that I couldn’t carry on my day with. I left with a sample pack of the iS Clinical products to take away, Rachel wrote which products to use and when which I found helpful.
The next day I could not get over how soft my skin felt, it looked amazing. I was excited to try the sample products. I started off with using the cleanser which I loved! It smells like something that is medically prescribed (in a good way, you know it has to be doing you some good!), you then follow with the Super Serum Advance. Why have I never used a serum before?! OMG I love it, as soon as you apply to the skin it tightens everything! To finish you apply the moisturizing Eclipse SPF 50 translucent cream which soaks into the skin instantly. With all the products you only need the smallest of amounts!
In the evening after cleansing, there is another fantastic serum to apply overnight. The end results for me I have noticed an overall improvement in skin tone and texture. A reduction in the dark circles & fine lines around my eyes and my skin feels so soft!
I highly recommend the Fire and Ice Facial and the iS Clinical products; I have at last found a skincare routine that I will stick to!
